Negli appalti internazionali di medie e grandi dimensioni è prassi che il committente richieda all’appaltatore il rilascio di una garanzia bancaria a prima richiesta per l’anticipo ricevuto (
advance payment bond), una per il corretto adempimento (
performance bond) ed una per il periodo di garanzia dei lavori (
warranty bond). L’appaltatore dovrà pertanto chiedere (solitamente) alla propria banca l’emissione di garanzie a favore del committente.
